Aldi ditches plastic bags for good
(CNN)– Aldi customer will no longer be able to purchase plastic bags.
The discount grocery retailer has eliminated plastic shopping bags from all 23 hundred U.S. stores.
The retailer aims to promote sustainability by reducing the use of plastic bags and encourage customers to bring their own reusable bags.
Aldi’s CEO says the company became the first major retailer in the U.S. to eliminate bags at all of its stores.
Customers who forget their bags can buy cloth bags in the stores.
