Bamberg businesses look to rebuild

BAMBERG, S.C. (WOLO)– Bamberg leaders are working together to offer help to one of the businesses destroyed by the tornado last week.

South Carolina Oak to Barrel makes Whisky barrels.

The company went to the area two years ago and invested nearly $7 million and created more than 100 jobs.

That all changed last week when the building was destroyed.

The general manager says the help they need is beyond county level.

Bamberg Mayor Nancy Foster has declared a state of emergency for the City of Bamberg.

She and Oak to Barrel are calling on Governor Henry McMaster to give them help at the state level.
