Private school scholarship portal application open

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A portal created by the State Department of Education to accept applications for $6 thousand scholarships to qualifying in-state students is now open.

The scholarships are designed to give families who couldn’t otherwise afford it access to private schools.

Officials say families can use the funds to pay for approved expenses like independent school tuition and fees, tutoring, educational therapies, online courses and more.
