RCSD: Victim dies at hospital after being shot multiple times

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A victim was pronounced dead at a hospital after being shot multiple times on Sunday, says Richland County deputies.

According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded in the 200 block of Pond Ridge Road East in response to a shooting on Jan. 21.

Deputies say when they arrived to the scene they found a victim in the roadway with what appeared to be several gunshot wounds to his upper torso and attempted to render aid.

Once EMS arrived to the scene the victim was taken to a hospital where the victim was later pronounced dead.

Investigators say the person who reported the shooting stated they saw a dark SUV leave the neighborhood at the time of the shooting.

Several fired cartridges were found in the roadway as well as several bullet holes in the side of a home on Pond Ridge Road East, say deputies.
