Sumter officers searching for man last in contact with family on Friday

According to investigators, Christopher Shawn Cox has not been in contact with his family since Friday and they are concerned.

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– The Sumter Police Department is asking for the public’s help finding a man who was last in contact with his family on Friday, said the department.

According to investigators, Christopher Shawn Cox has not been in contact with his family since Friday and they are concerned.

Officers said a message from Cox indicated he was at a Broad Street business around 6:45 p.m. on Friday.

He is described as 6 feet 7 inches tall, about 330 lbs., bald and has blue eyes.

It does not appear he has had access to his prescription medications since leaving home, said officers.

Anyone who sees him or knows where he can be found is asked to call the Sumter Police Department at 803-436-2700 or dial 911.
