Another jail guard arrested for misconduct in office, says Richland County deputies

A’Zasia English was also arrested for accessory after the fact of a felony while employed as a guard at the detention center.

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A fourth Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center jail guard has been arrested for misconduct in office, says the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

A’Zasia English was also arrested for accessory after the fact of a felony while employed as a guard at the detention center.

Detectives say on several occasions since Dec. 23, 2023, English made phone calls with an inmate at ASGDC outside of her shift hours.

English was aware that the inmate had a contraband cell phone and was communicating with him on the illegally obtained cellphone.

English was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

English is the fourth ASGDC guard to be recently arrested.
