Traffic accident damaging power lines leaves Newberry Co. residents in the dark

Newberry Co., SC (WOLO) — The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office is working a traffic accident that has caused several issues in the county. According to deputies the crash has damaged power lines and is also the root of several ongoing road closures (7:58pm). Authorities say the incident took place around 7:30 Monday night. As a result Wilson Road from Harrington to Kinard Streets, including side streets running in both directions will be closed.

These impacted areas will remain closed until repairs, which are expected to take several hours can be completed. Officials say residents who live in the immediate area should expect power outages as a result. Drivers are asked to stay clear of the area and find alternate routes.
