9 people displaced following single-wide mobile home fire

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Nine people in Lexington County are displaced after a mobile home fire, said fire officials.

The Lexington County Fire Service said units responded to a fire at the 3900 block of Charleston Highway around 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

When firefighters arrived to the scene, fire coming from a single-wide mobile home was seen.

No one was reported as injured but five adults and four kids are displaced.

Fire officials said the cause of the fire was deemed as accidental due to a lit candle being placed close to combustible material.

Anyone with candles in their home is urged to never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep them a safe distance away from things such as furniture, bedding, curtains, or other things that could catch fire.
