COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Blythewood woman has been sentenced to be 28 years for sexually assaulting an infant after a Texas investigation leads law enforcement to her, said the Attorney General’s Office.

A special investigator with the SC Attorney General’s Office says a call from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) with information about the sexual assault of a baby boy from the Texas Department of Public Safety was received on August 20, 2021.

During an investigation into a cybertip involving a person in Texas, law enforcement reviewed a cell phone and found a video of the sexual assault of a baby boy located in Blythewood.

The case was then turned over to a investigator in South Carolina.

During the investigation in South Carolina, it revealed that a woman named Taylor Schiel at the home connected to the video.

Investigators said a search of Schiel’s social media accounts was conducted and revealed several videos showing the sexual assault of a male infant.

Many of the videos of the sexual assault of the baby were spliced with videos of Schiel engaging in sexual activity with an adult male, said law enforcement.

Schiel told investigators she did sexually assault the baby, recorded the assaults, and sent the videos to someone in Texas.

She pled guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

And she was sentenced to 20 years in prison on one count of sexual exploitation of a minor and eight years on the 2nd count of sexual exploitation of a minor to be run consecutively for a total of 28 years at the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
