One dead following collision on highway

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One person is dead after an afternoon collision on HWY-76 in Newberry County, said SCHP.

According to state troopers, the driver of a Kia Soul was pronounced dead after a Thursday collision around 12:26 p.m.

State troopers said the driver was going west on the highway when the car went off the right side of the road and down an embankment.

Before hitting a culvert, a legally parked vehicle and then overturned.

The collision is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
