Carver-Lyon Elementary school students receive bikes for high scores
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Twelve students at Carver-Lyon Elementary school were awarded with a brand new bicycle for showing the highest growth on their test scores.
One-by-one each winning student was called to the front of the lunchroom to receive their new set of wheels all while being cheered on by their fellow classmates.
Each of the students in grades 3 through 5 showed the highest percentage of growth on their “star test” in English language arts or math.
Carver-Lyon Principal Dr. Monica Adams says today’s event gives her even more pride in her school and her students.
All of the bikes were donated by Chief Aubrey Jenkins with the Columbia-Richland Fire Department.
