IFD: 8 adults, children displaced after apartment fire

IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)– Firefighters with the Irmo Fire District responded to an apartment fire in the Woodland Village on Thursday afternoon, said fire crews.

Firefighters say when they arrived to the scene heavy smoke and fire were visible and coming from the rear of the apartment building.

Officials say crews were able to get the fire under control in around 30 minutes with help from Columbia-Richland Fire Department, Lexington County Fire Service, and West Columbia Fire Department.

A total of 4 units were damaged, displacing 8 adults and children.
