“It surprised me”: Midlands man wins lottery with second choice pick
SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands man’s second choice won him $300,000 while playing the lottery.
According to South Carolina Education Lottery officials, the ticket was sold at Corner Stop #118 on S. Guignard Drive in Sumter.
When the man’s first choice did not win anything, he decided to try again with a different ticket and got lucky.
“It surprised me,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials, who caught up with him after cashing in the winning ticket.
The winner told lottery officials the first thing he did with his winnings was paid off his house.
