State lawmakers considering bill that could change SC alcohol sales

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A bill being discussed in the State House potentially change the way spirits are purchased in the Palmetto State.

South Carolina is one of the four states where it is illegal for retailers to sell liquor on Sundays.

Right now, only restaurants and bars can sell hard alcohol by the drink.

The proposed bill would allow residents to vote on whether or not they want liquor stores to be able to sell hard alcohol on Sundays.

The measure has passed committee and is awaiting debate by the full House.
