Coroner identifies individuals who died following collision in Winnsboro

WINNSBORO, S.C. (WOLO)– Fairfield County Coroner Chris Hill had identified the people who died after a vehicle collision on US-321 Bypass S. in Winnsboro, said the coroner’s office.

According to Coroner Hill, Karen Guy was driving the vehicle and Gabrielle Burt was the passenger in the vehicle when the collision happened on Saturday, Feb. 10.

The vehicle turned off of Columbia Rd (US Hwy 321 Business), into oncoming traffic and hit another vehicle head on.

Both the driver and passenger died at the scene due to injuries and the driver of the other vehicle was taken to a hospital in Columbia for precautions.

The collision remains under investigation by the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
