“I was floored”: Midlands man surprised to see ticket worth more than he thought

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands man was surprised when he saw his winnings by playing the South Carolina Lottery, said officials.

The lottery winner thought he won $1,000, but when he went to cash in his ticket, he found out he really won $200,000.

“I was floored,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.

The Crossword X-tra Play ticket he purchased at the Discount Beer and Tobacco store on Augusta Highway in Lexington surprised him with a top prize win.

Five top prizes of $200,000 remain in the Crossword X-tra Play game at odds of 1 in 576,000.
