SUMTER, S.C.(WOLO)– A man is being charged with burglary after a break-in at a Sumter home on Thursday morning, say Sumter Police.
Sumter Police Department investigators say officers received a call around 7:15 a.m. in relation to a man trying to break-in a Grimble Court home.
The woman in the home told investigators she heard a window break and saw an intruder before fired shots at him.
The man ran off before investigators got to the scene. Surveillance video captured an image, which helped officers identify and find the man.
He was located walking around Bultman Drive around 9:30 a.m. and identified as Christopher Adrian England. Officers consider the 28-year-old a transient.
England is being charged with burglary and was taken to the Sumter County Detention Center after being treated for a minor injury suffered during the break-in.
