1 dead, 1 injured following collision on US-301

CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One person is dead and another is injured after a collision in Clarendon County, said state troopers.

The collision happened near the intersection of US-301 and Liberty Hill Church Road on Thursday, Feb. 15, around 6 p.m.

State troopers said a 2004 Freight-liner tractor trailer driver was traveling north on US-301 when the driver tried to turn left which resulted in the vehicle overturning on the passenger side.

The driver was taken to Mcleod Health Clarendon for injuries and the passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
