Richland Co. coroner identifies teenage shooting victim

Richland Co., SC (WOLO ) — The Richland County Coroner has identified the victim of a deadly shooting that took place along the 1800 block of Bywood Drive Friday afternoon.

The Richland County Coroner says the juvenile has been identified as 16 year old Fahim Khalid . Officials say the teenager was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his torso. According to deputies, once they arrived at the scene first responders started chest compressions, but say attempts to save the young mans life were unsuccessful and Khalid was pronounced dead before he could be transported to the hospital.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office says they will continue working with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department as the investigation into the shooting and search for a suspect continue.
