19th Annual Black History Parade & Festival kicks off this Saturday!

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – You can celebrate Black History Month at the 19th Annual Black History Parade & Festival this Saturday!

The event is from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

The parade kicks off at the corner of Hampton and Harden Streets in downtown Columbia, with the festival being held at MLK Park on 2300 Greene Street.

Sen. Tameika Isaac Devine will be the Grand Marshall & Southern Soul artist Mr. David is this year’s headliner.

Curtis spoke with Oveta Glover, President of Columbia SC NAACP branch, about all the activities you and the family can enjoy at the event.

She also said it’s a wonderful opportunity to educate yourself on black history.
