Fire crews put out grass, woods fire near Congaree Road home
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — Firefighters with the Columbia-Richland Fire Department put out a grass and wood fire that was threatening a nearby home, said fire officials.
According to the department, fire crews arrived to Congaree Road around 1:30 p.m. to find a fast moving grass and woods fire that had grown to surround a home.
Crews were able to control the fire, and keep it from spreading into the property before extinguishing it. There were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Richland County Fire Marshals Office.
