Coroner identifies person killed after single-vehicle collision

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker has released the name of the person who died after a single-vehicle collision in Sumter County, said the coroner’s office.

The collision happened at the intersection of Church Street and Haynsworth Street around 7:15 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23.

According to Coroner Baker, John Stanley, 59, of Sumter, was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a wall.

The Sumter Police Department and the Sumter County Coroner’s Office will continue to investigate, said the coroner’s office.
