Volkswagen is recalling 260,000 small cars for fire risk
(CNN)– More than 260 thousand Volkswagen compact cars are being recalled due to a potential fire hazard.
A pump inside these vehicles can leak fuel which could ignite if the gas comes in contact with a spark, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Officials with Volkswagen say this defect hasn’t caused a fore related incident so far.
Among the vehicles affected by this recall is the Volkswagen Golf, Jetta, and Audi A3’s from 2015 through 2020.
The automaker says it will start contacting customers in April and customers can get it fixed for free.
