SCDOT: Three overnight closures scheduled for I-126 westbound

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Department of Transportation announces the closures of I-126 westbound between Elmwood Avenue and Colonial Life Boulevard for Carolina Crossroads project construction work.
SCDOT says each closure will begin after midnight and last around 30 minutes. The first closure is scheduled for the early morning hours on Thursday, Feb. 29.
The three closures of I-126 Westbound will allow SCDOT to safely transport and set new bridge beams in their permanent locations, say officials.
Scheduled closure dates are as follows:
- Early Thursday morning, February 29, 2024
- Early Sunday morning, March 3, 2024
- Early Thursday morning, March 7, 2024
Drivers may experience temporary slowdowns and stops in traffic while the closures take place, and are advised to use caution and plan accordingly.
