1 dead after Lexington single-vehicle collision, say troopers

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A driver is dead after a single-vehicle collision in Lexington County, say state troopers.

The collision happened on Whetstone Road, 4 miles S of the Town of Swansea in Lexington County around 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28.

The driver of a 1996 Nissan Pickup was traveling N on Whetstone Road when the vehicle went off the right side of the road, the driver overcorrected and then went off the left side of the road, overturned and hit a tree.

The collision is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
