SCDOT: Three overnight closures scheduled for I-126 westbound
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– According to the South Carolina Department of Transportation, there will be three separate overnight closures of I-126 westbound, between Elmwood Avenue and Colonial Life Boulevard due to construction work.
The construction work is a part of the Carolina Crossroads project.
SCDOT says each closure will begin soon after midnight each night and is expected to last for about 30 minutes.
Scheduled closure dates are as follows:
- Early Friday morning, March 1, 2024
- Early Thursday morning, March 7, 2024
- Early Sunday morning, March 10, 2024
Exact timing of the I-126 Westbound closures is subject to change based on construction progress, with backup dates scheduled in case of poor weather or other unexpected issues.
During the I-126 westbound closures, local law enforcement and transportation authorities will be onsite for traffic management and to help provide the safety of construction crews and the traveling public, say SCDOT.
