RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies say another Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center employee has been arrested for misconduct in office.

Zavius Calloway is accused of knowing an inmate was in possession of a cellphone at the jail. Investigators say the inmate sent money to Calloway through Cash App.

Also, investigators say Calloway admitted that he and the inmate were roommates and former co-workers. And that the former co-workers continued to have contact while the inmate was detained at ASGDC.

On Feb. 29, he was arrested and charged with misconduct in office and two counts of furnishing contraband.

He was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and granted a $15,000 personal recognizance bond on the furnishing contraband charges and $500 PR bond on the misconduct in office charge.

Calloway’s arrest comes after several other employees and jail guards have been arrested since January.
