Sumter man accused of shoplifting hundreds of dollars worth of items
SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– A Sumter man accused of shoplifting items worth hundreds of dollars has been arrested, say Sumter Police.
Officers say 62-year-old Mickey Anderson Ward is accused of taking hundreds of dollars’ worth of items used in repairs and construction work.
An investigation found that Ward made several trips to a store in February and each time he took items that include a ladder, grout, plastic rolls and other materials without paying.
Ward is charged with five counts of shoplifting enhancement and was booked in the county jail.
He was placed in custody on Wednesday after officers were notified he was in the same big box home repair business where he was tied to previous thefts.
