Inmate found dead at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – An inmate was found dead at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, according Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators say on Saturday night at around 10:30 p.m., correctional officers discovered an unresponsive 22-year-old female inmate in her cell at the detention center.

According to Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford, the victim is identified as LaRoyal D. Harley, 20, of Gadsden, S.C.

The incident is still currently being investigated and details will be released as they are made available.
