Pet of the Week: Callie!

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)- Meet Callie! This sweet 1-year-old pup has been patiently waiting for her forever home at Columbia Animal Services since early February.

Callie is a shy, petite, and well-mannered little girl ready for the chance to show her true colors in a loving home. She is great with cats and other dogs, and friendly to all people, including kids. There is not a mean bone in this girl’s body!

Callie is curious of new surroundings outside of the shelter, but adapts quickly and well. She is a volunteer favorite and had the opportunity to spend a few nights away from the shelter with a volunteer through their ‘Slumber Buddy’ program. She is the ultimate snuggle bug, and loves to take couch naps with her human by her side. Callie sleeps quietly in her crate through the night, rides great in the car, knows how to sit, and did well going potty outside. She is highly trainable and eager to please! Please go slow introducing her to public places. She is still a little timid, and nervous around cars. She did wonderful at the shelter’s most recent adoption event!

Now until March 17th, Columbia Animal Services is offering a St. Paw-trick’s Day O’doption special! All adoptions are just $17 and include spay/neuter, up to date on vaccinations, and flea/heartworm preventative. You can also attend the shelter’s Pups & Pints Adoption event at Jake’s On Devine this Sunday, March 10th from 12-3pm. Adoption fees will be waived! You’re encouraged to bring a leash and collar.

Visit the shelter and adopt Callie at 127 Humane Lane.
