Group hopes to repeal abortion ban

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A coalition of community and advocacy organizers from across the state are launching a petition campaign to repeal the most recent abortion ban in South Carolina.

Known as Repeal the Ban SC, they are opposed to the bull signed into law last year that prohibits abortions after six weeks of pregnancy.

The group also pointed out the lack of the healthcare options for many in rural counties in the Palmetto State.

Initially the State Supreme Court rules the abortion ban as unconstitutional but later went back on its decision and has allowed the bill to become law.
