Former DJJ correctional officer charged after allegedly providing youth with contraband
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A former DJJ correctional officer is being charged after providing a youth with contraband, said DJJ officials.
DJJ said Quaisia Canty gave a youth a contraband cellphone and was willing communicating with the youth about delivery of future contraband.
Also, Canty is accused of communicating with other youths through a contraband phone about funds to purchase a drone to drop-off contraband into the Broad River Road Complex.
Canty was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on Wednesday, March 6.
She is charged with adult furnishing contraband to a juvenile while in DJJ custody and misconduct in office.
