Guilty verdict handed down in “Rust” movie set shooting
(CNN) — A New Mexico jury found film armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed guilty of involuntary manslaughter for the shooting that left cinematographer halyna hutchins dead on the set of the movie “Rust.”
Actor Alec Baldwin was holding the gun, and Gutierrez Reed was responsible for its safety. It was not supposed to be loaded with live ammunition. She could get sentenced up to 18 months in prison for the conviction.
Prosecutors also charged her with tampering with evidence for transferring a bag of cocaine to someone else after police interviewed her.
The jury found her not guilty of that crime.
