Daycare damaged after fire, caused portion of road in Sumter to close

 

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– A Sumter daycare is damaged after an afternoon fire, said officers.

On Thursday afternoon, Sumter police alerted residents that a portion of Wilson Hall Road, from Wesmark Boulevard to Broad Street was closed as firefighters responded to a call in the area.

A fire department spokesperson confirmed that the fire took place is at the Clubhouse Learning Center.

Parents of children at the daycare were notified by daycare administration of the road closure, say police.

No was reported as injured.

The Sumter Police Department asked parents to meet an officer at Wesmark and Wilson Hall where they were directed to a pick-up location for their student.
