Cherry Blossom Festival to be held in Town of Irmo
IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)– The annual Cherry Blossom Festival which honors the Japanese Yoshino cherry trees will be held in Irmo.
The family-friendly festival features picnicking, blossom-viewing, food vendors, handcrafted artwork and more.
It will be held at the Irmo Town Park located at 7330 Carlisle Street on Saturday, March 23.
The event will feature a 12 foot tall Pickachu, a “maid cafe” experience, green tea service and demonstrations, a kimono stroll, and a costume contest hosted by Soda City 3D Art and Cosplay, who is also providing custom designed trophies for the costume winners registration for the contest begins at 2 p.m.
The six cherry blossom trees were planted at the park in 2001.
