Lexington police searching for alleged MoneyGram thief
LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)–The Lexington Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying an alleged thief, say the department.
Officers say the alleged thief purposefully confused a clerk at a Sunset Boulevard CVS on Monday, February 19, in order to complete a peer-to-peer payment.
During the incident, the individual asked the clerk for a MoneyGram order worth $2,000 but during the process only gave the clerk $500.
Investigators say the individual left the store with $1,500 and used fake information to complete the MoneyGram order.
