Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said Ty’Reek Malik Samuels is accused of committing assault and battery 1st degree by hitting and injuring a victim in the face and head while armed with a handgun and presenting it.

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A man is wanted by Sumter County deputies in connection with burglary and other charges, said SCSO.

Investigators say deputies responded to a home in the vicinity of Railroad Avenue in the community of Pinewood in reference to a domestic problem at a home in the vicinity of Bacon Hill Road.

Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said Ty’Reek Malik Samuels is accused of committing assault and battery 1st degree by hitting and injuring a victim in the face and head while armed with a handgun and presenting it.

Samuels is also accused of continuing to choke and hit the victim, then leaving the scene with valuables belonging to the person on Monday March 18.

Due his prior criminal history which includes a prior conviction for kidnapping in 2021, he is prohibited from having a firearm, said deputies. Anyone who sees Samuels is urged to call 911.

He is being charged with burglary 1st degree, assault & battery 1st degree, pointing & presenting a firearm, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and felon in possession of a firearm.
