Lexington County coroner identifies Georgia man as victim of multi-vehicle collision on I-20
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died after a multi-vehicle collision on I-20, said the coroner’s office.
According to Coroner Fisher, Andre Tyrone Eason from Augusta, G.A. was with his disabled vehicle in the roadway after his enclosed trailer came loose from the vehicle when the incident happened.
The multi-vehicle collision happened near the 61-mile marker of I-20 eastbound in the Lexington area of Lexington County at about 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20.
Eason was outside of the vehicle when a different vehicle hit the enclosed trailer which then hit him and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two drivers of other vehicles were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the incident.
