1 dead after vehicle went off the road, says SCHP

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One person is dead after a vehicle went off the left side of the road in Richland county, says SCHP.

The collision happened on Thursday morning around 8 a.m. on Garners Ferry Road.

According to state troopers, a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling west on Garners Ferry Road when it went off the left side of the road and then hit a traffic light pole.

The driver was taken a nearby hospital and then later pronounced dead due to injuries sustained.

The collision is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
