2.2 magnitude earthquake shakes up Kershaw County

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has reported a 2.2 magnitude earthquake happened 6 kilometers east of Elgin on Saturday morning, around 2:22 a.m.

Kershaw County is no stranger to earthquakes as the county has previously has multiple shakes up in 2023.

There were more than 70 earthquakes reported near Elgin from December 2021 to January 2023.
