RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A man was arrested after shooting at a construction crew on Rockyknoll Drive, say RCSD.
The Rockyknoll Drive incident happened around 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26.
Richland County deputies say Deontra Jones shot at a construction crew after a verbal altercation about his dog.
Deputies say Jones and the victim got into a verbal altercation because Jones felt like one of the people at the shooting location had disrespected his dog.
Jones went into his home and then went back to the location with a gun and fired a shot from his front porch, say deputies.
Richland County Sheriff’s Department says Jones eventually went back inside his home, went to a window that was facing the workers and fired another round at them.
Deputies were able to negotiate with Jones to come out of the home and he was placed under arrest. No one was injured.
He was charged with pointing and presenting and breach of peace of a high and aggravated nature.
Jones was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and is currently detained.
