Columbia man charged with attempted murder in connection with Sumter shooting

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– A Columbia man is charged in connection with a shooting that that left a man injured, said police.
Robert Lee Wilson is accused of shooting a man earlier this month.
Investigators said they responded to reports of shots heard in the Manning Avenue area around 4:30 a.m. on March 16.
When officers arrived to the scene, a man inside a Bee Street motorcycle club was found with gunshot wounds.
Witnesses inside the club saw at the time of the shooting, they only saw the victim go inside the building with gunshot wounds.
The 53-year-old victim was taken to Prisma Health Tuomey and then transferred to a Columbia hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Officers said based on information gathered in the case they were able to identify Wilson as the shooter.
He turned himself into the police on Tuesday and was booked at the county detention center.
