SCHP: Pedestrian dead after collision on I-95

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A pedestrian is dead after a collision on I-95 in Sumter County, says SCHP.

State troopers say the collision happened around 1 a.m. on I-95 South, 6 miles east from the Town of Mayesville.

A 2023 freight-liner was traveling south on I-95 when it hit a pedestrian walking north in the southbound lane shoulder, say state troopers.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
