Adderall shortage impacts ADHD patients
(CNN)– About 1 in 10 adderall prescriptions are being affected by the ongoing drug shortage.
Exclusive analysis by health data platform Trivet found the prescription fill rate for ADHD medications fell to nearly 41% in February 2023.
That’s down from nearly 49% in October 2022.
The findings from this analysis may not fully represent nationwide trends.
Treating ADHD with adderall can help reduce impulsiveness, improve attention, and manage feelings of anxiety.
The FDA says increased demand and manufacturing delays are contributing to the shortage.
