American Airlines changes pet, carry-on policy

(CNN)– Pet parents can now bring a full-size carry-on in addition to a pet carrier on American Airlines flights.

USA Today reports passengers bringing a small pet on board can choose whether they want their second bag to be a small personal item that goes under the seat or a larger bag that fits in the overhead bin.

Before they were only allowed to bring the small personal item and the pet carrier.

The airline’s $150 pet fee is still the same and animals must remain in their carriers.
