Costco begins offering Ozempic prescriptions to some members

(CNN)– Costco is now offering U.S. members access to prescription GLP-1 weight loss drugs including Ozempic and Wegovy.

The company is offering the injectables, as well as oral weigh loss meds through its low cost health care partner Sesame.

The renewable three month program includes a video consultation with a weight loss doctor or specialist, a weight loss prescription, if appropriate and ongoing support through messaging and guidance with a health care provider.

The three month plan costs $179 and does not include the cost of medications.

According to Sesame, without insurance, GLP-1 drugs can cost between $950 and $1600 dollars a month.
