Elon Musk restores free blue checks for influential X users

(CNN)– On Wednesday some accounts on the social media platform ‘X’ received complimentary blue check marks and premium features.

Popular accounts with at least 25 hundred verified followers were gifted premium subscriptions and blue certification badges.

It follows an announcement Elon Musk posted on the platform last month saying accounts with 25 hundred verified followers would get premium features.

And accounts with five thousand would get premium plus features for free.

This comes a year after musk removed the verification badges from most users’ accounts and reserved them for paying subscribers.
