Deadline to file taxes approaching

(CNN)– Mark your calendars as time is closing in for you to file your 2023 taxes.

The IRS is sending a string reminder that meeting your tax deadlines is crucial.

This year you have until April 15th to file your return.

If you owe and fail to file by the due date, the IRS will issue a 5% penalty for each month you’re late.

And if you file an extension by April 15, you will have until October 15 to file your taxes.

You still will be able to send your return to the IRS electronically or by mail.

If you’re paying taxes, quarterly payments are also due on April 15, June 17, September 16 and January 15 of next year.
