Boeing orders bounce back on demand for a plane it can’t deliver yet

(CNN)– Orders for Boeing planes have bounced back. According to the company, American Airlines placed an order for 85, 737 Max 10 jets in the first quarter of 2024.

But the Federal Aviation Administration hasn’t approved that plane to carry passengers yet.

Certification for the Max 10 was halted after 737 Max 9, Alaska Airlines flight had a door plug blow out. It’s unclear when the plane will be able to fly.

Meanwhile, Boeing didn’t receive orders for other versions of the 737 Max in the first quarter.
