LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington County deputies have arrested a man on early Tuesday for his role in a family argument that started on Monday night.
Timothy Reed Brewington, 48, is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a weapon by someone convicted of certain offenses, according to arrest warrants.
“Based on information deputies gathered during their investigation and interviews at the scene on Pond Branch Road, Brewington overheard an argument between family members and stepped into the situation while armed with a 9mm handgun,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said.
Deputies say Brewington went back and forth verbally with someone and eventually pointed the handgun at the person and pulled the trigger.
The other person was not injured, according to Sheriff Koon.
Investigators say Brewington ran back to his house after firing the shot and eventually drove away.
Some time later deputies were able to locate him driving on South Lake Drive and arrested him without incident.
He is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
